Finding balance in work and home life

Last Friday, was the first time since the birth of my daughters that a school in-service day, sick day, or snow day, did not fill my heart with dread.

Dreading the stress and anxiety of a day spent perilously balancing trying to be a present mom playing with my kids on THEIR day off with leading high-performing teams that rarely slow down or shut off.

Last Friday, I slept in until 7 AM (I have kindergarteners, so 7 is good). We got up leisurely, we went to the “place with fancy brunch lettuce” and played in the park. We went home, and during nap(ish) time, I had a client call and wrote a  workshop recap.

I figured out a different way to achieve my goals, one that allows me to prioritize what is most important to me, not someone else.

No matter your job, how flexible or hard, you are the only one who can make that happen for yourself.  I couldn't or wouldn't believe this for far too long.

It was a long path to convince myself there was a different way, a better way for me. I began to read, some suggested by a trusted coach, Lisa Earle McLeod, and some by Audible, but each played a role in finding the true balance I found last week.
